How can we improve AquaSnap?

  1. Add the ability to throw windows with options.

    When a window is grabbed to move, Aquasnap could detect the inertia. This could be enabled with the control key. You could do things like lightly throw it to stick to the closes windows, throw it fast to stick to the screen edge. Maybe use the shift key/throw for snapping. The window would slide across the screen, slowing down to a stop or sticking/snapping to something if specified by options. The same could apply to resize.

  2. Aqua Snapping Per Screen

    You should be able to select aqua snapping options per screen. When using vertical and horizontal screens: it would be useful for the top edge of the screen to snap full screen on horizontal and top half on vertical screens. Just allow all the current options to be selected per screen!

  3. AquaSnap - option to retain window size after undocking

    First, thank you for the great software!

    Currently, after undocking a window from the screen edges, it automatically resizes to its original shape from before it was docked. Very often I like to resize the window WHILE it is docked by dragging one of the inside edges or corners to make it smaller. And if I undock it then, it still resets to the original size/shape from before docking, which is inconvenient.

    Please provide a setting to retain the 'docked' size of the window after undocking.

    Btw this feature is available in WindowSpace by NTWind, which is the one thing…

  4. Citrix Receiver Support - Snap Across Multiple monitors

    My IT department does not allow the remote desktop in a Citrix receiver to use multiple monitors. And even with Aquasnap the receiver only snaps to one monitor. Can Aquasnap present two monitors as one, so that the Citrix desktop uses both?

  5. mirror window, part of desktop or monitor with option to automatically start with windows

    can you add an opton to mirror a porgram window, part of desktop or monitor to another monitor like you can do with actual window manager

  6. Multiple Monitor usage: handle every monitor as a single display

    Currently aquaSnap makes an unlogic decision how the window is resized.
    An example:
    3 monitors in a row: window in the middle display, press win+alt+7 window is resized to the left and middle monitor but i need it in the middle monitor at left top position

  7. Stable Virtual Desktop Support.

    I'm searching for software that supports a flexible setup for quick custom window arrangement over multiple Virtual Desktops.
    Currently using setups like
    2 windows: [ ][ ],
    3 windows: [ ][ ][ ]
    or even 4: [ ][ ][-]

    across multiple virtual desktops in Windows 10 for both private and professional use cases. All currently continuesly arranged manually..

  8. Make window opacity dynamic for AquaShake windows remaining on top. e.g. 100% visible on mouse hover

    I want to be able to have these 'floating" windows available easily where I can set their opacity really low but when I need them and edit them I want them to return back to normal visibility whenever I'm focused or moused-over that window.

  9. Implement functions already available in AltDrag

    While testing AquaSnap, I ran into the following issues:
    - unable to enable window snapping only when the Alt key is pressed
    - unable to resize any windows by the Alt key and right mouse button
    - unable to change window opacity by the Alt key and mouse scroll
    - AquaSnap ignores the current transparency level (e.g. when window is already half-transparent)
    - unable to snap to inner edges of other windows (the option is disabled, unable to check in Trial version)
    - window snapping is less pleasant than in AltDrag 1.42 by RamonUnch (sometimes windows were placed one pixel…

  10. Add AquaSnap hotkeys to focus on the window above/below/right/left of current window

    It would be great if there were hotkeys available to focus on the window to the right of the currently focused window, or to the left, above, or below. This would allow one to work efficiently across multiple applications without using the mouse, and bypassing the Alt-Tab UI, using these hotkeys to "navigate" the focus around the desktop in an intuitive way. It would be very similar to how some Linux tiling window managers like xmonad work.

    It should work across monitor boundaries.

  11. New AquaSnap mode or modifier key that doesn't allow overlapping docked windows

    One last idea that would really make for a clever window manager.

    When a second or third window is snapped to any screen edge, resize existing docked windows to prevent window overlap. Suggest up to 3 windows per side. Could be a new mode, or a modifier key, or double clicking a docked window, or dragging along a screen edge, or something? Its starting to sound a little unintuitive...

  13. Add information about how to find the setting file and save it (i.e. how to keep settings when moving between computers)

    Most programs have a settings file (.ini) in e.g. the user folder, which can be backuped/exported and moved between computers. This information should be stated in the FAQ

  16. Create a forum for reporting problems

    I am a newbie, so if this request is already solved, please respond with the recommended solution.

    I see there is a forum to get ideas for improvement.

    Being a new user, I see problems that I would like to report, but there is no forum for this.

    A Problem Forum would help to reduce multiple reports on the same issue. Users can search and find out without having to
    treat every problem from scratch.

    Some reports need more than one user to try out - eg which windows like Win10 Task Manager cannot be glued.

  18. Docked Window Feature like in OneNote

    I would like to see a feature like the "docked window" of OneNote, which would turn any window into such a docked window.
    The docked window would occupy space at the desired corner of the screen, and blocking this space for all other windows. Maximizing another window, would only be possible in the space not occupied by the docked window.
    This would basically simulate a split screen functionality, where a fixed windows is always visible, no matter what.

  19. Needs to implement user desired specific location placement like Sizer by BrainApps

    You can set windows to be placed at specific locations which is what I need it for. Check out Sizer by BrainApps and you will know what I mean
