Horizontal AquaSnap in 1/3 or 1/4 screen increments
I use a 4k monitor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. Most applications don't use the entire space when split across half the screen. I end up manually resizing them to only take up 1/3 or 1/4 of the screen.
My most common layout is a CAD application or Photo editor using 2/3 - 3/4 of the screen, with a web browser using the remaining space.

I have a 32:10 screen and usually use Linux and gtile, which is totally free and 100% configurable (you want 1/7 increments? fine). I've just switched to Windows for a job and have AquaSnap on trial but I am not going to purchase it because it does not have this feature.

Completely agree, want this implemented. I think it'd be a great addition and it is something that I use a lot with the Magnet app on my Macbook. 1/3 and 2/3 options would be amazing.

Crazy that this is not implemented in 2020. Screens are getting physically larger and higher resolution, using half a screen for some things is just silly.
Edit: particularly funny when the graphic for AquaSnap that is shown on nurgo-software.com has a grid that is very much NOT halves/quarters...

I bought a pro license to use this software as a trial run to see if our center should by a site license. I believe this feature would seal the deal. Ideally, the option would be an "[x] by [y]" control, but a list of presets would be enough.
Also, you may want to consider defaulting the suggestions page to sort by "top rated" since most of the posts seem to be about this very suggestion.
Thanks for an excellent app that is clearly well thought through.

This is the only feature missing from Aquasnap for me. I've loved it for years, but it still bugs me that we cant split into more than the four corners. Please!!

It's like no one uses 21:9 screens! Netflix has four letter boxes on ultra wides. Websites, even Google search displays everything on the left or tiny column in the middle. How about a novel design with three columns and horizontal scrolling? And I can't find any windows management program that does 1/3 of a screen. Even 16:9 screens would benefit. But no, no one gives a damn about desktop users. It's all about phone users using portrait screens.

Still waiting on this, even though this is the top request.

What a shame this feature was suggested back in 2015 and still has no implementation.
This was the exact feature I came here looking for hoping that the software would support.
Dividing windows into 3 rows or 3 columns easily using dragging only (and not window resizing) would be perfect. -

Add my voice to everyone else. Tried the software, but I have an ultrawide and the one feature I want - to be able to have three documents side by side, isn't there.

This is the biggest shortcoming of Aquasnap in my mind. Resize to 1/3 is CRITICAL for larger ultrawide and 4k screens. Manget for OSX does this by dragging to the bottom of the screen for 1/3, and dragging to bottom and slideing for 2/3. It is hard to describe, but in practice works really well. Would love to see aquasnap have this too

Like other commenters, this is the main reason I didn't complete a purchase after the trial. Being able to dock the windows to custom positions on a 21:9 monitor is critical. I currently went back to using MaxTo so I could get my 1:2:1 split, but really enjoyed the polished nature of AquaSnap.

Will buy if the snap controls would support 1/3 and 1/4 sizes. As is, with noted larger screens, its just not bringing the value.

To piggy-back on this idea, I often divide my screen horizontally (occasionally even vertically) into thirds or quarters, and only with a multimonitor setup of 1920x1080 screens. Currently I have to use another piece of software to achieve this with keyboard shortcuts. The ability to snap windows to subdivided regions of a monitor, whether with keyboard shortcuts or by using the mouse and a keyboard modifier key, would be ideal.

Another vote for this. I am heavily dependent on this feature in MacOS (better snap tool) and Linux (QuickTile) and would love this functionality when I use windows.

Add another vote... AquaSnap is sorta useless without such options.

Hah, if you combine all the requests for this feature submitted under different topics you get to 200+ votes...

I just posted:
Maximize / Snap Zones (Advanced "Horizontal AquaSnap in 1/3 or 1/4 screen increments")
I believe it would work for all commenters and voters for your suggestion.
It just needs votes :)

I agree with comment of Hanny Yeung. Some percentage of the used screen would help (or set in pixel size from specific edge, but then every snap edge has to have their sizes set).
