How can we improve AquaSnap?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Set custom size of drop zones

    50/50 screen splits and even quarters is available in base windows now. I was hoping for a tool that would let me set custom sized "snap to" zones, like a 2/3 1/3 option. That allows a chat, to-do list, or inbox feed to stay visible in 1/3rd the screen next to a 2/3 window for your main work. Right now with AquaSnap I have to manually size the first window for the 2nd to then fill the remaining space, and isnt much more convenient than the manual process for that in windows.

  3. Make window opacity dynamic for AquaShake windows remaining on top. e.g. 100% visible on mouse hover

    I want to be able to have these 'floating" windows available easily where I can set their opacity really low but when I need them and edit them I want them to return back to normal visibility whenever I'm focused or moused-over that window.

  4. Auto-snap apps to specific monitor and screen size

    I would like to open whatsapp for example, and it would auto-snap to my 2nd monitor and only take half the screen for example.

  8. AquaSnap 1.23.8 suddenly stopped snapping cmd.exe windows on W10

    I don't know when exactly this has happen but I experience this issue on W10 1909 and also on 1809. I can't remember any AquaSnap update. Does anyone know what can be the issue?

  11. Allow screen splitting in portrait tablet mode.

    Using a 2-in-1 laptop allows us to use tablet mode and split the screen horizontally, which is very convenient. What isn't natively enabled, however, is the ability to split the screen in portrait tablet mode. I would like to be able to split the screen while in portrait tablet mode in order to have a video or other lecture material on top, while leaving the bottom open for taking notes for class. This would be extremely useful, but neither windows 10 not aquasnap come with this option.

  12. Split more than 4 ways.

    I have a massive monitor.
    Windows already splits 4 ways, your Snap feature is no more useful than the one that came with Windows.

  13. Make AquaSnap more like Magnet for Mac

    I'dl like to be able to use hotkeys and tile my windows into more than the native windows Halves. I'd like fourths, sixths..etc. Magnet for Mac allowed me to do that on Mac, but on Windows I'm having trouble finding a nice and easy approach to this problem.

    Have a button in the taskbar that when clicked automatically tiles windows giving priorities to things like browsers

  17. pre-defined snapping areas + right mouse button confirm

    1) while dragging with left button, highlight pre-defined snapping-areas with a transparent color -> press the right button anywhere in that area and the window snaps (commonly you have to aim for small margins which is a pain). If you don't press the right button, no snapping will occur.

    2) make your software able to work simultaneously with KDE-mover. Would be handy to use its features while simultaneously be able to snap windows to pre-defined areas through your software as described before.

  18. Save/Restore Layouts & Launch Programs

    It would be nice to be able to Save/Restore Actual Windows Position, not just to Snap or Stretch, but to Overlap as Well. Then when you restore a layout, it also launches individual Application/FIles in the positions they were in when the layout was saved. This would be a true Layout Manager instead of a Window Snap program.

  20. Make Aquasnap Hotkeys Resize Adobe Acrobat Reader DC!

    I love Aquasnap, but when hotkeys are enabled it CANNOT resize Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    Also, when Aquasnap hotkeys are enabled the program seems to block normal built-in Windows 10 resizing keys (e.g., Win+arrows) from working to resize Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    In other words, when I'm running Aquasnap with hotkeys enabled, there seems to be no way to resize Adobe Acrobat Reader DC using any kind of keyboard shortcuts.

    As soon as I disable Aquasnap hotkeys or quit Aquasnap, everything goes back to normal: I can then resize Adobe Acrobat Reader DC just fine using built-in Windows 10 resizing…
