modern windows 10 apps (like Calculator) are not affected by AquaSnap
I have a keyboard shortcut assign to snapping left: Alt+Windows+J. It works beautifully with "standard apps" like chrome, office, etc.
But say you load the Windows 10 calculator OR the Weather app (the ones that clearly use another visual metaphor geared towards touch devices) and they don't obey this shortcut to snap.

I have the exact same behaviour as @rfinney using Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps, such as Calc, Messenger etc; no response first, but after a quick minimize & restore all aquasnap shortcut keys are back online. Is it something that can be fixed in the AquaSnap application, or is it a limitation related to the Windows 10 UWP application format?

Just for the heck of it, I tried using some AquaSnap shortcuts with Calculator running Win 10. Discovered a strange thing . . they didn't work at first but if I minimized Calc to the taskbar and restored it, they all worked. I couldn't really believe it so I double, then triple checked and then checked some more . . they kept working as I described and never worked when first opened.
Don't know if it could be related to my setup: Win 10 Pro (1607), 64-bit, taskbar unlocked, displayed on left side of monitor.
