Add "stretch vertically" action and "DoubleClick" shortcut to the hotkey & mouse tabs
As of AquaSnap 1.18.0, windows can be stretched to occupy the full vertical height of the monitor (i.e., maximized vertically) only with the AquaStretch feature, which is bound to the equivalent of Shift + Double Click @ TopBorder
and Shift + Double Click @ BottomBorder
.
It seems natural to list a "stretch vertically" action (and its horizontal analogue) as an Action in the Hotkeys and Mouse settings tabs so that it can be re-bound. It would have a natural place under the "Stretch the window" header.
It also seems natural to have DoubleClick as a mouse shortcut option in addition to LeftButton, MiddleButton, etc.
These changes would allow the AquaStretch feature (at least the parts that don't involve dragging the window edge) to be reconfigured without introducing any new UI elements.
I agree with you. This is done this way mainly for legacy reasons, but we will try to change this in the next refactoring round.

Additionally, if the window is already at the horizontal or vertical maximum, a second press of the hotkey would restore it to the previous size. Use case here is a terminal window that you temporarily want to maximize horizontally (e.g. for a wide log file or diff) then restore to the previous size and position. fvwm2 did this well.

I came here to request the same thing. John Peloquin articulated it perfectly. So glad it's planned! What a great product; happy to have purchased the Pro edition just to support the project.
