Add off-screen window docking option
I personally find that the single function that added the most utility to my screen space is docking my windows off-screen. I select a window and hide it on a selected screen edge. Touching that edge will slide the window back into view, the moment it loses focus it will then return/auto hide.
"docked" windows cannot be full screen, size needs to be limited to prevent annoying accidental activation. start menu and close window corners are common examples. That said I think the benefits are well worth implementing, and getting used to.
Overall benefits :
- Potentially double effective screen space (4 edges x 4 windows at half size)
- Intuitive multitasking : Quick access to essential apps without the need to click and/or hit a key
Example layout :
Notepad on left edge for quick notes
Browser on top for quick searches (or hiding away from boss)
task manager on right for quick review of to-do list
Mailbox on bottom for quickly checking mail
... and now you use Aquasnap to fill your currently empty desktop :-)
Buggy and discontinued software that had this :

Edit : Potentially TRIPLE screen space. 4 edges x 4 windows = 2 ADDITIONAL screens.
